After spending years without a stable home, I finally found a place to call my own. But when the economy shifted, I lost my job, and my savings quickly disappeared. I was determined to get back on my feet and was grateful to find a new job, but life kept throwing challenges my way. In just three weeks, I had repeated car issues that I struggled through with help from some generous people and then I was rear-ended—leaving my car completely totaled. I thought I could manage, but on Christmas Eve, I suffered a set back and ended up in the hospital. Now, I’m facing uncertainty about what comes next, and the bills are piling up faster than I can keep up.

I’ve only been part of this community for a short time, but I already feel how connected and caring everyone is. My hope is to get the support I need to pay my bills, make it to work, and attend my follow-up appointments as I recover. My dream is to help others heal from injury, and I want nothing more than to continue working toward that goal.

Especially at this time of year, I know many people are looking to make a fresh start or help others do the same. I love helping people heal, but right now, I can’t do this alone.
