In the middle of the night on October 26 Lisa Belcher was attacked in her home in Painesville, Ohio. She was assaulted and stabbed repeatedly but survived with 4 broken ribs, a fracture in her spine, a swollen and shut left eye, her left hand/wrist has cuts and she has no feeling in some fingers, the ligament or tendons might be cut. Lisa will probably need surgery later for that. Her assailant broke all the windows in her home and set her bedroom on fire. There is nothing left of her personal items including her clothes. Another portion of her home was also set on fire and will need to be torn down and rebuilt in the future. There are a lot of repairs that will need to be done in order to get the house to a livable standard. For the last 5 years Lisa has been home taking care of her mother who suffered from declining health and who recently passed away. Although Lisa has a job, it is not enough to provide the support she will need to cover medical, housing and food expenses until she can return to work.
