Hello. My name is Shawna Lucas (SSU Class of 2000 & 2022) and I am inviting SSU alumni and other supporters to join me in a collective fundraising effort to support Lisa Meier (Class of 2022). Lisa has been invited to present her published thesis work at the Society for the Study of Theology’s 2025 conference at the University of Warwick, in the UK.

Let’s financially pool resources to help Lisa present her work at this conference. Please join me in being part of a community who helps our classmates succeed in their scholarly endeavours and who sees SSU voices being shared around the globe. Every donation, large or small helps. 100% of financial gifts will go to cover travel costs and conference fees. Together, we can help get Lisa from Ottawa to Warwick to share her research.

This year's theme for the conference is “Flesh and Blood Theologies,” making Lisa's MA thesis, “Menstrual Blood: An Icon of the Kenotic Atonement of Christ: A Better Way with Better Blood,” an important contribution to the discussion.
