Help Lisa O'Leary live her best life with cancer

Donation protected
Lisa is one of the most genuine, kind and caring people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She’s the dearly loved wife of husband Daniel, and incredible mother of their 2 amazing children, Ryle 18 and Amber 14. She is the rock of their very close and beautiful family, loved and cared for by her family and many friends.

There is a detailed story of Lisa’s medical journey for you below, but to jump straight to the point; Lisa has 6 to 12 months left to live. For the last 2 years Lisa has been battling Stage 3 Glioma, a malignant and aggressive form of brain cancer. The O’Leary family have been devastated by the news that Lisa’s life will be cut short by this cancer. However! That shouldn’t mean she doesn’t get to live as much as possible in the time she has left. That’s where we come in.

This fundraiser campaign has been put together by friends of Lisa to raise money for Lisa and the O’Leary family, for the purpose of easing financial pressure of medical treatments & to maximise Lisa’s life in every way possible, for every day she has left. We want to enable this amazing woman & her family to have incredible experiences and make precious memories together while they still have the ability to. Lisa & her family are the sole beneficiaries of this fundraiser, all money goes directly to them.

If you are able to donate, large or small, please do so! Your generous giving will enable her family to love her fiercely and fill every moment of her time left with positivity, adventures, treasured memories and give her the utmost care that she deserves. Let’s turn this unfair & brutal situation into a beautiful story full of love & good things. Please quickly spread the word of this fundraiser.

With deepest gratitude and urgency.

In October 2022 Lisa was having headaches and trouble with her vision and went to an optometrist thinking it may have been an issue with her eyes. Noticing that the issue had nothing to do with her vision they immediately referred Lisa to hospital. Scans revealed a large tumour behind her right eye and she was quickly scheduled for emergency brain surgery to remove the tumour. The operation was ‘positive’ and a large portion of the tumour was removed.

After further tests revealed the nature of the tumour, Lisa was diagnosed with Stage 3 Glioma, a malignant and aggressive form of brain cancer. It goes without saying the family was completely crushed and in shock by this horrific news, however they put on their brave faces and decided to get on with life, undergo treatment and hope for the best. She then went through 33 sessions of brutal Radio Therapy and then relentless Chemotherapy.

The tumour unfortunately returned in July 2023 and Lisa had to undergo yet another brain operation to once again remove it. The operation was again ‘positive’, and the majority of the tumour was removed and it had not grown back bigger than its original size.

Treatment continued to try and stop the tumour returning, it has obviously been incredibly hard on Lisa and her family, pushing through sickness and nausea caused by the ineffective chemotherapy, whilst still being an amazing wife & mother. Daniel, the kids and all her family and friends have been blown away by Lisa’s strength and bravery in facing it head on. She truly is an incredible woman.

In January 2024, The O’leary’s were given the devastating news that Lisa’s tumour had come back once again very aggressively. Unfortunately now there is no longer any further treatment that will effectively stop it. The only course of action is for Lisa to slowly come off treatment medication (which will mean no more horrible side-effects) and manage the tumour as best as possible, to prolong her life expectancy & hopefully reduce the debilitating effects of the cancer.

The Dr’s have given Lisa and her family an expected length of time she has left to live out her beautiful life to the fullest. Unfortunately the doctors estimate that Lisa has 6 to 12 months left to live. It's completely unfair and devastating that her life will be cut short by this tragic circumstance.

So please, give generously and let's make every single second of this amazing woman’s remaining life beautiful.
