Help Lisa Masker Through Her Medical Journey
Donation protected
This is my friend, Lisa Masker.
She was diagnosed on May 23, 2022, with Stage 2b Triple-Negative breast cancer. During this time, she worked closely with her doctors to figure out what treatment options would be best for her and was able to successfully come out the other side of breast cancer with a complete pathological response. Meaning that between the chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and a double mastectomy she was able to eliminate any evidence of cancer.
The ability to celebrate this good news and the ability to move forward was short-lived. She was diagnosed with Cushing syndrome following her final Keytruda treatment. This has caused several severe issues for her, including how she can heal from surgeries, uncontrollable thyroid issues, fatigue, and constant extremity weakness that makes her mobility a real challenge.
She has been deemed unable to work since September 2023. She has had multiple infections that she has had to contend with that has caused skin break downs and required her to go in for many surgeries to remove the ulcerated skin that refused to heal. Since September 19th, 2023, she has had 11 surgeries.
She is now being prepped in the next 3 months for an adrenalectomy surgery which will be a much larger surgery than anything she has faced to this point. That surgery will be to treat the Cushing syndrome.
Why does she need your help?
Lisa was just recently denied for disability. The battle to try and get her approved isn’t over, she is still fighting with the hopes that she may find a victory in getting approved, but until then, she is struggling due to lack of income.
How can I help?
Any amount of money that you would be willing to give will allow her to continue to pay bills and try and stay ahead of the things that she is constantly contending with including fuel expenses driving back and forth to doctors’ appointments and surgeries that are 2+ hours away each time. Any amount you are able to help with would be a blessing for Lisa in this moment.
Thank you so much for your kindness and your generosity in considering a donation.
