Help Lisa Lucas with her recuperation

Our sister, Lisa Lucas, has been in the  hospital since April 8.  She has been diagnosed with multiple ailments including bacterial meningitis, double pneumonia, shingles and several blood clots.  She had several procedures to diagnose and treat these problems.  She is currently in a rehab hospital for IV and physical therapy to regain the use of her body.  She has very little muscle control at this time. We work with her everyday to improve both her mobility as well as her memory.  Therapy may take months before she will be ready to go home.

She is a single mother of two . When/if she is able to come home, many things will need to be done to prepare her house for her future needs.  We need to renovate her home into a wheelchair friendly place.  This will entail modifying the entrance to her home, her kitchen and her bathroom.  Her entire house will need to be adapted to her situation or a new one will need to be purchased.

She is on a set disability payment. In the past she has earned extra money by selling items at an antique mall in LaPorte and on Ebay.  Since she is not able to do that now and may not be able to do that in the future we are asking for help for her and her sons.

We have set a goal of $30,000 to begin to cover her expenses.  We will need help to begin the remodel by removing and selling all of the excess items that she has stored in her home. Any help will be appreciated.

The support that people have shown in the last four weeks has been amazing.  We are all very thankful for the love and caring that everyone has shown Lisa.
