Help Lisa Karolyn Achieve Gender Affirming Surgery (SRS)

Hi! My name is Lisa Karolyn, and I’m inviting you to be part of my journey toward Gender Affirming Surgery (Vaginoplasty) in Thailand at the Suporn Clinic. This surgery is a crucial step in my life, and I’m asking for your help to make it possible. This procedure will be life-changing, helping me feel more at home in my body by aligning it with my true gender as a woman. For those who don't know me personally, I am a 28 year old music teacher, artist and queer rights activist living in Oslo. I live with my wonderful partner, Maja (she means the world to me <3), in a small apartment outside the city centre. At my work I teach music (instruments, production and band instruction) to young girls, trans and non-binary youth through the ideal organization, AKKS, and I am currently finishing my official teacher education at the University of Oslo.

The last three years have been incredibly challenging and difficult, yet they have also been the most meaningful years of my life. I have had to fight to become the person I am today. Discovering that I am not what society expected me to be—that the life I have lived and the body I’m in aren’t 'right'—has required more strength and resilience than I ever thought I had. This surgery represents a crucial step in aligning my physical appearance with my true self as a woman, allowing me to feel at home in my body for the first time.

I have been incredibly fortunate to secure an appointment at a reputable hospital in Thailand for my surgery on November 13, 2025. However, as a young music teacher and activist, my income is not sufficient to cover the costs without the help of you, my friends and family. The surgery itself costs a little over 201,000 kr (roughly 19,500 USD), and adding travel cost, accommodation and food (plus necessary expenses tied to the post-op recovery), I have set the aim of this GoFundMe to 300,000 kr (roughly 28,250 USD). While this goal may seem large, each and every donation brings me closer to achieving this life-changing milestone.

It’s a big and important step in my transition that will vastly improve my life quality, alleviating the discomfort I currently experience with the parts of my body that are unaligned with my true self.
