Help Lisa Heal — Support Her Journey to Recovery and Peace
Hi, my name is Eric Robichaud, and I’m writing this on behalf of someone I care deeply about — my ex-partner and still one of my closest friends, Lisa Mason-Adams.
Lisa is one of the most resilient people I’ve ever known. She’s been through hell — and somehow, she’s still standing. But now, for the first time in a long time, she has a real shot at healing… and she needs our help to take it.
Lisa has spent most of her adult life battling addiction and mental health challenges — struggles rooted in a lifetime of trauma. She has survived abusive relationships that nearly cost her her life, multiple instances of sexual violence, and numerous painful personal losses. She was also subjected to what the courts later ruled to be cruel and unusual punishment at the hands of the Correctional Service of Canada: while incarcerated in federal prison, Lisa was wrongly suspected of concealing contraband and held in a “dry cell” for 16 days — isolated, under constant surveillance, and denied even the most basic human dignity.
She was innocent.
What happened to her was so severe that a Canadian court ruled it unconstitutional — a violation of her rights, and of basic human decency. Lisa took on the federal correctional system and helped strike down the very law that allowed for that kind of torture. Her case has been covered across Canada and beyond.
But even after making legal history… she’s still left carrying the pain.
That’s why Lisa has made the brave decision to attend a 12-day Ibogaine treatment program in Mexico, starting July 24th. Ibogaine is an intensive, medically supervised therapy that can help people process trauma and break free from the grip of addiction when nothing else has worked.
The treatment costs $8,000 USD (roughly $11,000 CAD) — and Lisa doesn’t have the resources to cover it on her own.
I’m asking you — as someone who’s loved her, seen her suffer, and also seen how fiercely she fights — to help her get there. She’s more than deserving. She’s ready. And this treatment could be the thing that finally gives her the peace she’s always been searching for.
If you can donate, please do. If you can’t, please consider sharing this link with someone who can.
Lisa’s already survived the worst. With your help, she can finally begin healing.
Thank you for reading — and thank you for believing in her.
With respect and gratitude,
Eric Robichaud
