Hi, my name is Lisa Raquel, and I'm reaching out for support as I prepare for two major surgeries — including a total knee replacement that I've had to put off for over three years.
Like many, I’ve tried to “tough it out” as long as possible, putting my family first. With a husband and two daughters to care for, taking time off work simply hasn’t been an option. The cost of surgery, combined with unpaid recovery time and medical bills, has made it feel impossible.
But the time has come when delaying these surgeries any longer is no longer manageable. The pain has become severe, and I need to prioritize my health so I can be there for my family long-term.
Why I Need This Surgery Now
My quality of life has suffered in ways that are hard to explain — chronic pain, limited mobility, and constant discomfort make even simple daily tasks overwhelming. It affects my ability to be the mom and wife I want to be. I struggle to keep up with the physical demands of running a household and being present for my family in the way they deserve.
This isn’t just about surgery — it’s about getting my life back.
What's Happening
- Surgery #1: A necessary women’s health procedure scheduled for December 19, 2025. This surgery is vital for resolving ongoing health issues that have impacted my daily life for far too long.
- Surgery #2: Total Knee Replacement - planned for March or June of 2026, depending on how recovery goes with surgery #1 and what’s financially possible. This surgery has already been delayed over three years due to cost and caregiving responsibilities. It’s essential to restoring my mobility and relieving constant pain.
- Recovery time:
- First surgery: 2 weeks off work, with approximately 6 weeks of restricted mobility.
- Knee replacement: 4 weeks off work, followed by 8–12 weeks of physical therapy
- Insurance costs:
- $6,900 deductible
- 20% coinsurance on everything beyond that (hospital stay, anesthesia, physical therapy, follow-ups)
How You Can Help
I’m hoping to raise $8,000 to help cover:
- The out-of-pocket deductible
- Post-surgery expenses (physical therapy, follow-up visits)
- Partial income loss during recovery
Any amount — big or small — will make a meaningful difference. Even just sharing this campaign with your friends or on social media would be incredibly appreciated.
This wasn’t easy to write — asking for help is humbling — but I know I'm not alone. I’m so grateful for your support, your kindness, and your generosity as I take this step toward healing and being the best mom and wife I can be.
With love and gratitude,
Lisa
