Our friend Lisa is a 44-year-old wife, a mother of a 8-year-old son, a special education teacher, and a DJ/creative in the Buffalo community. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in late 2019 at only 38 years old. Lisa endured a year of treatments including chemo, multiple surgeries, and radiation. A year and a half later the cancer returned, and she underwent more treatment, including a double mastectomy. In October 2023, Lisa learned the cancer had spread more aggressively to her bone, making it stage 4.

There is currently no conventional cure for stage 4 breast cancer, and the only option she was given was chemotherapy for the rest of her life. Determined to heal, Lisa began seeking a more integrative approach to her care, adding alternative treatments to complement the traditional. She has been a champion through it all, but the cost of treatments and past medical bills are piling up to the point of financial burden for her and her family.
