Please help our friend Lisa raise money to sustain herself during this challenging time of her life. Lisa is faced with severe disabilities from several car accidents, resulting in spinal cord injuries as well as spine abnormalities. Due to these physical limitations, she’s unable to work.
Lisa is facing one of the hardest chapters of her life, fighting to recover from spinal cord injuries while trying to keep herself safe and cared for.
For nearly four decades, Lisa has survived multiple car accidents, but the hidden damage to her spine told a different story. In 2021 during a routine check-up, Lisa asked her doctor a simple question, wondering what happened to the chipped vertebra in her neck from over 30 years ago.
That question saved her life!
An MRI revealed the horror, her cervical spinal cord was on the verge of severing. She underwent an emergency six-hour cervical fusion surgery, where a titanium plate and screws were placed to in her neck to prevent future paralysis or worse. Though the surgery was lifesaving, it left her with chronic pain and lasting complications that have changed her life.
Now Lisa faces another major setback. She was recently diagnosed with additional spinal cord damage above her existing fusion, a very dangerous area. She works diligently with her neurosurgeon to hopefully prevent further spinal fusions.
Lisa has applied for disability, but as many know, this can take a year or more for a determination. In the meantime, being unemployed she’s struggling to cover the basics: housing, food, utilities, vehicle costs, and care for her three dogs, who are her family and emotional support.
Through it all, Lisa perseveres with incredible courage, strength, faith, and positivity. She’s very disciplined in maintaining her health and mobility while living with the uncertainty of potential paralysis.
We’re asking for your help to alleviate the financial burden that Lisa faces every day. If you’ve ever met Lisa, you know she’s the kind of person who radiates kindness. She’s the first to lend a hand, share a smile, or offer encouragement, even when she’s facing challenges most of us can barely imagine.
Your donations will go directly toward her basic living expenses, keeping her home warm, her bills paid, and her dogs cared for.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, truly makes a difference.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support for someone who has already endured so much, and continues to face it all with remarkable strength.
