Anyone who knows Lisa knows what an amazing servant's heart she has. She is a hard worker and will help anyone in need. She worked for Plainview ISD school system for 37 years, as well as serving in 4H, meals on wheels, drill team, on various boards, etc... the list goes on and on... full of hours of helping make other lives great.
In August of 2017, Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer. She began treatment to reduce the size of the cancer. Then in December, she had a double masectomy to remove the remaining cancer and several of her lymph nodes. We were in high hopes this would be the end and then life would resume as normal. However, due to the number of lymph nodes that had cancer, the doctor believes it is best to start radiation and chemotherapy for the next seven months.
The cost of treatments, as well as the cost of traveling back and forth to Lubbock every day is very costly. Even though Lisa has insurance, she has to pay for this year's deductible and 20%-30% coinsurance for every treatment/visit. Lisa and Colby have already paid the cost of all of last year's doctors' visits, treatments, surgery, and travel. In return, their savings has been depleted. This is why we are asking for help.
Lisa never asks for anything. She never wants to inconvenience anyone. Many people have asked how they can help Lisa during this time. Well here's the opportunity. Any little bit helps go a long way to help provide a sense of finanical peace for Lisa and Colby during this very difficult time.
Starting tomorrow (January 30th), for the next seven months, the doctors have asked her to limit her time around other people. This is due to her weakened immune system. However, when her treatments are complete, she will be able to return to her normal life enjoying family, friends, and regular activities.
