Lisa and Chris met a few years ago and felt a sense of connection that has only deepened over time. When they made the decision to marry, they were extremely practical and set a modest wedding budget. They set the date for Saturday, May 16, and booked the Grand Shelter at Lewisville Regional Park in Battle Ground, Washington, as their venue.
In the early hours of Tuesday, May 12, a fire destroyed the Grand Shelter. Lisa and Chris were informed that their venue was unavailable due to the fire. They were offered the opportunity to reschedule, but a last-minute change was not workable due to the number of guests who were flying in, renting cars, and staying in hotels. At this time, their budget has been spent and they are scrambling to create an alternative plan. The Parks department said they could accommodate the date if they wanted to rent a tent, chairs, heaters, and a generator to have set up in the park, but the cost is prohibitive.
Donations will be used to pay for the rental, setup, and tear down of the tent, chairs, heaters, and a generator. With only two remaining days to change their plan, Chris and Lisa will be so grateful for help from the PNW community to keep their wedding plans in this beautiful setting.
