Help Lisa Care for Rescue Rabbit and Babies

Donation protected
Howdy! My name is Lisa. I have started my own GoFundMe

It is with a humble heart and desperation I come to this point in my rescue story. If you know me personally, you already know what this is about. If not, then here is the recap. I captured an abandoned domesticated rabbit from the side of the road. Unbeknownst to me, this special lady bun was a PREGNANT lady bun. Bunny moms are the only ones that can raise the babies, meaning that I was stuck with the surprise deal of the year.

I already have two bunnies at home (Sweet Pea and Abner <3). While I was prepared to take on the care of one extra rabbit, I was by no means prepared for eight extra.

HERE IS YOUR WEEKLY BUNNY MATH PROBLEM:
2 Bunnies + 1 Bunny = ????

Answer:
10

TEN! I am currently taking care of 10 rabbits on my own. I have done the best I can for as long as I can. So I am here requesting financial help. I have reached a point where my savings are past depletion. While this is the last week of nursing, it isn’t the end of it for me. I currently hold the responsibility for finding forever homes for each baby as well. I work as a full-time bartender. This has become my second full-time job. Not just in providing animal care for all 10 rabbits that reside in my tiny apartment (please don’t tell my landlord), but I now have the marketing job I never wanted.
Side note: Not a single local rabbit rescue has responded to my formal written requests for help or my chaotic 4 am pleas for an escape. I don’t blame them. The cycle of adoption and abandonment is real. Domesticated rabbits are in the top three of pets surrendered and abandoned.

The donation request is just for the cost that is required to take care of mom and the babies for the next 3 weeks. I have written out what supplies/needs I require and added the cost of Mom’s spaying surgery. I have also included the list of items with prices for transparency. I can provide links to confirm prices upon request. If you are uncomfortable with donating money and would prefer to donate supplies, you are more than welcome to message me for my information.
In the magical event that a rescue offers to take the babies within this time frame, I will donate the remaining money to that rescue.

THE LONGER VERSION:
In June, I rescued a rabbit from the side of the road in Atlanta. My partner had seen her wandering around weeks before. One afternoon, I was driving home when I finally spotted her lying underneath a trailer outside an abandoned apartment complex. No food, no water, and no protection from predators or cars. She was underweight, with urine dried around her back legs and tail area. After being taken to the vet for an evaluation, the doctor started her on a treatment for both worms and parasites, in addition to treatment for severe kidney issues that most likely resulted from prolonged dehydration. I was unaware she was pregnant. My vet was unaware she was pregnant.
Longer story short, I came home from work one Thursday night to find that rescue bun had made a nest with her fur. By morning, I woke up to seven baby bunnies.
Born July 19, 2024.
I contacted my vet and was told that mom was the only one who could raise the babies, and it would be 8 weeks before they would officially be weaned off mom. We are now at week 7.

$10x3 for fluffy litter is $30

A special thank you to my friends, family, and community that have been there for me during these difficult months.

Thanks y’all for taking the time to hear me out. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. More importantly, it will ensure that these babies continue to be given the highest level of care, and allow me to focus on getting them into good homes.

With Love,
