Help Lisa and Marty Recover

Hey folks, we’re raising money for our mom and dad who were in a traumatic car accident just after lunch on Sunday, January 22 in Illinois.
They were traveling home to Jenison, MI after a wonderful visit in Chicago with family to celebrate our dad, Marty, beating esophageal cancer, (wooohoo!) when the car slid and hit a car, that had moments before, been involved in a hit and run and was in the middle of two lanes. Five total cars were involved in the pile-up.
Micah, was driving because our dad wasn’t feeling well. Micah had the least amount of injuries. He’ll probably need support too, but separately.
All three were taken to the ER in Indiana for care.
Micah was discharged first, then our dad with a lumbar spine fracture, but our mom got the worst of it with two spinal fractures, two broken ribs, extensive bruising and more.
MC drove down from Grand Rapids, and we all spent the whole darn week down in a hospital Indiana waiting while she was evaluated and cared for, (worst vacation ever) and were finally discharged Friday the 27th.
We rented an suv and drove directly to Butterworth ER in Grand Rapids, MI for more help from doctors who know our mom’s cancer and heart condition, more medical resources, and to be closer to home.
Both our mom and dad will be in back braces for at least 2-3 months, making daily tasks (cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping, shoveling) difficult.
Micah and I will be there to support with most stuff, but there are some things that insurance won’t cover (co-pays, medications, equipment, service fees) that they’ll need community support to handle.
Can you support them during this time?
P.S. They could really use encouragement after cancer, surgeries and everything they’ve been through too! Thank you!
