On January 4, 2026, Jayla was the victim of a shooting that left her with serious injuries that caused her to become paralyzed. She is currently in a rehabilitation facility, working hard every day to recover and regain her strength. The road ahead will take time, patience, and a great deal of support.
Jayla is the loving mother of two beautiful babies a 15-month-old son and a 5-month-old daughter. Being away from them while she focuses on healing has been one of the most difficult parts of this journey. Her children are her entire world and the reason she continues to fight through every painful and challenging day of recovery.
As Jayla prepares for the day she can finally return home, her family is facing the overwhelming challenge of making their house accessible for her needs. This includes installing a chair lift, remodeling the bathroom and bedroom, and building a ramp so Jayla can safely enter and move around the home in her wheelchair.
Jayla’s life changed in an instant, but with support from family, friends, and the community, we hope to give her the resources she needs to keep fighting, healing, and building a future with her children.
We are asking for any support you may be able to give to help Jayla focus on healing and eventually return home to her babies. Your prayers, love, and support truly mean the world.
Thank you for standing with Jayla and helping her through this journey so she can get back to what matters most - being with her babies.
