Honoring Anita Fraser
I originally set up this GoFundMe after a devastating fire destroyed Anita Fraser’s apartment—taking with it every possession—and sent Anita to the hospital with severe smoke-inhalation injuries. With a broken heart, I am now revising this page.
It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share that Anita has passed away from her injuries. She fought bravely for days after the fire, surrounded by love, prayers, and the extraordinary care of her medical team. Anita’s life was defined by grace, courage, and quiet strength, and her passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew her.
Anita lived for 26 years with progressive Multiple Sclerosis, enduring limitations that would have broken most, yet she never lost her warmth, her humor, or her gentle spirit. Even when she could no longer move her arms or legs, her heart and mind remained vibrant. She faced every challenge with dignity and resilience, and she was deeply loved.
Her sister Lisa was her constant—her caregiver, advocate, protector, and best friend. Lisa devoted her life to ensuring Anita was safe, comfortable, and cared for. Caring for Anita was a full-time responsibility in addition to Lisa’s full-time job. Their bond was extraordinary, built on unwavering love and selfless sacrifice.
We are keeping this GoFundMe active to help cover Anita’s funeral and memorial expenses, so she can be laid to rest with the dignity and honor she deserves. In addition, donations will help Lisa as she begins the overwhelming task of rebuilding her life after losing not only her sister, but also every possession in the fire.
If you are able to contribute or share this page, please know that it is an act of love in Anita’s memory and a lifeline for Lisa as she moves forward without the sister she so devotedly cared for.
Thank you for surrounding this family with compassion, generosity, and kindness. Anita’s light lives on in every person whose heart she touched.
