I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of Lirak and Suela Gjoshi, and their 7-year-old daughter, Liora. Many in Albania and Kosova know Lirak as a faithful Albanian language translator for medical missionaries and pastors. He has selflessly served others for years — now his family is the one in need.

On Thursday, September 11, Lirak and Suela took their daughter Liora to the doctor in Tirana for severe headaches and nausea. Two days later, they urgently drove nine hours to Athens, Greece, to see a pediatric neurosurgeon, as Albania lacks the specialists and resources for such care.

Early Sunday morning, Liora underwent emergency brain surgery for a “massive deep” tumor. After 11 long hours, the surgeon was able to remove most of it. Miraculously, when she woke up two hours later, she could smile and move her arms and legs. Her family and her friends rejoiced with tears of relief.

Liora is now in recovery, but the road ahead remains uncertain. A small portion of tumor remains, and biopsy results will guide further treatment. The family faces overwhelming challenges: they are far from home, living in a foreign country with no income and no health insurance. Their normal monthly income in Albania is only $600–700, and right now they cannot work.

The fundraising goal is $100,000. These funds will cover Liora’s medical care — doctor and hospital fees, follow-up MRIs, potential additional surgeries, biopsy and treatments — as well as housing, meals, and transportation while the family remains in Athens.

Liora Gjoshi, një vajzë e dashur dhe e ndjeshme, iu nënshtrua një operacioni urgjent në tru, në Athinë, për heqjen e një tumori të madh. Prindërit e saj, Lirak dhe Suela, udhëtuan nga Tirana pas shfaqjes së simptomave të rënda e të papritura. Liraku ka shërbyer për shumë vite si përkthyes për mjekë misionarë dhe pastorë në Shqipëri.

Tani, kjo familje përballet me kosto të mëdha mjekësore — $100,000 dollarë — për operacionin, qëndrimin në spital, analizat dhe trajtimet e mëtejshme. Me të ardhura mujore modeste, si shumë familje të reja, ata kanë nevojë për ndihmën tonë.
