Help Linux Find a Safe Home to Breathe Easier

Hi, my name is Carla Lance, and I’m a parent to an amazing son named Linux. He’s 12 years old and has an infectious smile that lights up any room. Unfortunately, that smile is often clouded by the struggles he faces with chronic asthma and severe allergies to mold. For the past year, we’ve been doing everything we can to manage his health, but we’re now at a breaking point where we need help—help to find him a safer, healthier home.

Our current living situation has become a constant battle. The mold in our home exacerbates Linux’s asthma and triggers severe allergic reactions that leave him struggling to breathe. Despite our best efforts to manage the environment—using air purifiers, cleaning frequently, and avoiding triggers—his health continues to be in constant battle. He suffers from frequent asthma attacks, missed school days, and limitations on activities that other children his age enjoy.

We’ve reached a point where staying in our current home is no longer an option for his well-being. We are urgently seeking a new, safe home that is free from mold and allergens—a place where Linux can finally breathe easier and experience life without constant fear of his health being compromised.

Here’s where we need your help. We’ve have been approved for a Habitat home that would be suitable for Linux’s needs, but there’s one obstacle standing in our way: we need to reduce our debt in order to move in quickly.

We’ve been doing everything we can to make ends meet, but the burden of existing debt is preventing us from securing the final steps to move into our new home. So if you are able to help make our Dream into a reality we would be so very grateful.
