Linus is my 3 year old Boston Terrier. One month ago after finding a small lump under his chin I received the awful news that Linus has a Mast Cell tumor. Recently after taking him to a veterinary oncologist I learned that the cancer has not yet spread to other parts of his body. We have met with a surgeon who thinks that with surgery and radiation Linus has a good chance of successful treatment. We won't know the stage of the tumor until it has been removed and sent out for biopsy which will have an effect on his overall prognosis. There is an 80% chance that it is a low grade tumor which gives us a good chance at beating this! The sooner that this tumor is removed from Linus the better since this will reduce the odds of the cancer metastasizing to other parts of his body. As of now Linus is scheduled to have surgery on the 23rd of February to remove as much of the tumor as possible. There is a small chance that he will not need radiation after the surgery if good margins are achieved. However, he will most likely need radiation treatment to try and get any remaining cancer that is left over from the surgery.
I have had Linus since he was 9 weeks old and over the past year and a half we have been traveling across the country together in a small travel trailer. He has been my traveling companion and has been great a friend through the pandemic. Losing him to cancer would be a huge loss and I intend to do everything that I can to care for him. I would be very grateful for your financial support to help fund his medical costs.
