Lingaiah Podisetti, a hardworking construction worker, saw his life turn upside down in 2014 when he fell from a building and became paralyzed. Since then, his struggles have only multiplied. In an effort to survive, he sold his 4 acres of land and his home, but the challenges did not end there. His wife left him after the incident, leaving behind their young daughter, whom he got married by selling his last bit of the land.

Today, Lingaiah lives in a fragile hut that is on the verge of collapse, along with his aging mother, a disabled woman, and himself—a family struggling every day. The only income they have is an ₹8,000 pension, barely enough for food and daily expenses. His medical expenses alone cost ₹5,000 per month, making life even more difficult.
