Help Ling and Family Through This Tough Time

Donation protected
Life is a journey. We've experienced some completely life-altering moments to say the least. The best thing I can say is: keep those you love as close as possible. Hug them. Cherish every little moment because you never know what life may throw at you next - but also, embrace your own moments. Don't ever lose sight of that.

Here is our story. My parents have been travelling back and forth to and from Taiwan, dealing with my grandmother's deteriorating health off and on for years now. After returning from their latest trip last fall (2024), my mom ends up in the ER due to increasingly worse back pains. We quickly find out she has stage 4 colon cancer. Not even a week after, my grandmother passes away. These were, and are still incredibly hard hits on our entire family. Thankfully, Popo (my grandmother's family nickname) lived a full 96-years of life, filled with adventures and so so much love. She had a beautiful Buddhist funeral in November. We are all still praying for her daily, and her beautiful soul will always be loved and deeply missed, but at least we know she is not in pain anymore.

Recently, my mother, Ling's health has drastically gone downhill. She is no longer eligible for chemotherapy, and her cancer is mixed with an even more aggressive abscess infection and is taking over her body. She has been in and out of the ER nonstop and her prognosis is not bright, but our family's love is what is keeping all of us going. The doctors really want her to switch to hospice care, but under that, we've been told she'll only have days - weeks if she's lucky. Trying to make the most of time together, but that also means my life is at the hospital now.

This fundraiser is for a mixture of things: my mother's care, future funeral costs, my family being able to enjoy more comforts outside of all of this serious stuff, etc. Financially as well as mentally and emotionally, things have been tough, but as the optimistic person I strive to always be, I believe there's always a silver lining. Sun after the storm.
