I have known my friend Lindsey for nearly 30 years, and right now, she, her husband, and her 21-year-old kiddo need to raise at least $1250 this week in order to avoid homelessness and hopefully obtain an affordable apartment they have had their eye on before it gets cold. Lindsey is a brain tumor survivor and she, her husband, and her kiddo are all disabled/chronically ill and had to unexpectedly move out of their old apartment because it was completely unlivable. Their landlady refused to fix major issues, and when they’d had enough, their landlady refused to give them their deposit back. Her husband was previously a dept manager at Walmart, but is currently dealing with a TBI and degenerative discs in his back and applying for disability , and Lindsey is awaiting a much-needed carpal tunnel surgery to be able to work again, along with some other chronic health issues. Right now they are crammed into a tiny camper on her father-in-law’s property with no heat or running water, and little electricity, and had to temporarily rehome their 2 cats. Their 2 cars are over a month behind on payments. I can personally vouch for Lindsey - she is good people, and she needs to raise at least $1250 ($1000 security deposit + 1st week’s rent) to move into the apartment they’re looking at (they are also looking at other places in the event this one falls through) though I’m hoping to raise $2000 so that they can get their first month’s rent taken care of and get them back on their feet. I know times are tough for so many of us now, so anything you can give is so appreciated - even if it’s just sharing this fundraiser.
