Help Lindsey recover from a stroke.

Lindsey Noble had a stroke on December 6, 2023. After several days in ICU, he is now in acute care and will need to be transferred to a skilled nursing facility. At this point, Lindsey is immobile on the right side, very limited speech and is unable to eat on his own. Unfortunately, he was home alone when this event occurred, and I found him hours later when I came home from work. The doctor tells me that stroke patients can take months and sometimes years to regain mobility and independence. I go to the hospital every day when I can. I saw him on his birthday; he was secured in a special chair, and I took him on an “Art Walk” along the hospital halls. He can’t talk very well right now, and is not eating on his own yet, but his personality and spirit are alive and well, I tell him that all his words are in there and are just finding a new pathway. Lindsey needs an enormous amount of re-habilitation and care to help him pull through this; but he is a fighter, he wants to get better, I see it in his eyes. We are asking for $45,000 to help get us through until Lindsey is eligible for disability and Medicare. There is a precarious gap between getting his disability and his short-term coverage. There will also be hefty medical co-pays not covered by our current insurance. Lindsey is a vital and much-loved member of our community: he served his country in the Navy and The National Guard, he volunteered for Seattle Shakespeare CO, and other arts organizations as well as CERT and SNAP, and as a wine scholar for Taste of Washington, Wilridge and other small local winery businesses. He worked for many years for the arts and non-profit. Lindsey and I have been married since 1995, He has always been there for me and now I am speaking for him and on his behalf until he finds his words and gets back on his feet. Thank you for your support, we are blessed to have this opportunity to help Lindsey recover from this life-changing event.
