Help Lindsey and Jeannie Recover from Hurricane Helene

Hi! My name is Olivia. My family and I are from Yancey County, North Carolina. On September 27th & 28th Hurricane Helene hit NC and brought an unimaginable amount of damage and devistation to my family. Within 24 hours, the house and property my parents, Lindsey and Jeannie, had worked and owned for over 40 years, raised my sister and I in, and plans to retire next year washed away.

My parents have worked for decades to create a home rather than a house. A place they could retire to and enjoy life doing their favorite hobbies, including gardening, woodworking, quilting, hunting, and fishing.

While coping with the sheer magnitude of the situation they found themselves in after evacuating, they are also assist with caring for my 95 year old grandmother who lost her home, siblings who also lost their homes, the loss of a business that had been in the family for generations and my mom's small business.

I'm making this gofundme page to help lighten the burden of completely starting again instead of retiring. As the shock and adrenaline fade and the numbness no longer hides the void- their needs as to how to move forward will continue to increase. I ask, if you feel lead to help in any way, please donate. The funds will go 100% to my parents to use for current and future needs (such as household items, self care items, personal items, upcoming bills and expenses related to the damage) as they rebuild their life and piece together yet another home.
