Lindsay Dickson, also known as "Papa Bear" to his 4-5 year old Sunday School class, had a series of devastating strokes starting in October 2023. These strokes paralyzed the left side of his body, leaving him unable to walk or use his left arm. It also damaged part of his brain, giving him very painful neuropathy and brain fog. In the first days and weeks after the two strokes, he was in and out of the ICU at Atrium Health in Charlotte. It has been a very long and uphill battle for him and his wife of 53 years, Becky ("Granny Beck" to the Sunday School kids). He has said multiple times that he feels like he is in the "Twilight Zone", like he is stuck in a bad nightmare. Anyone that knows Lindsay, knows about his sense of humor, even in bad situations. He has had many ups and downs through this process with times of discouragement and sadness but trying to remain positive and still have his sense of humor when at all possible. Becky has been his solid rock in this world with their number one trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

After working hard in PT and multiple, numerous medication attempts, Lindsay seems to have hit a plateau in his recovery. Progressing slowly, but still unable to use his left side hardly at all. They have discovered a doctor in Boca Raton, FL that does an alternative treatment for stroke patients having 80% positive and remarkable results. Lindsay and Becky have decided to give this a try and are planning to take a trip to Boca on March 14th.

I am asking family and friends to pray about, and consider, financial support for them, as their trip will cost $10,000. The treatment alone is $8,500.00 and the rest would be travel expenses. Their insurance will not cover the cost of this so they will be paying out-of-pocket for everything. They do not know that we are trying to raise this money for them, and we assure you that 100% of the money raised will go directly to them.
