Help Lindsay Kick Butt Cancer's Butt!
Donation protected
Lindsay had had some trouble in the bathroom for a while; like most people might, she thought it was no big deal. Until it suddenly was. After three different doctors and nurses were less than helpful to her, we found out through a colonoscopy in September that Lindsay has rectal cancer.
Our world was immediately turned upside down.
People have asked us over and over how they can help, and we are so, so glad for the outpouring of support. Our needs come in three categories:
1. We want Lindsay to get better and Kick Butt Cancer's Butt
Because we believe in the power of prayer, you can help this happen by actively praying for Lindsay, her doctors, her treatments, and her overall health and wellbeing.
2. We need help managing the crazy treatment schedule
Because of the sheer volume and importance of the treatments, we're going to be calling in favors for people to hang with our kids while Lindsay has appointments and for people to help us with dinners and groceries. Our friend Loughlin created a Meal Train if you're interested in helping out: https://mealtrain.com/2qwzy7.
3. We have no clue how we're going to pay for any of this
We generally keep an emergency fund for medical expenses and thing, but that is already pretty much depleted. Lindsay's insurance deductible is $2,500, and we're almost definitely going to hit her "out of pocket maximum." Co-pays will still continue to accumulate even after we hit that "ceiling," and she will have lots and LOTS of individual appointments throughout treatment.
That's where this GoFundMe campaign kicks in. The reality is that we don't have a stockpile of cash for this level of medical need. It's also true that God has blessed our family with a huge network of support, which has already shown itself to be incredibly generous.
We deeply and sincerely appreciate any and all of the ways you choose to help us in this crazy season of life, whether it's through prayer, childcare, dinners, encouraging text messages, big hugs, financial support, or any combination of those. We wouldn't be able to get endure this new reality without all of you! Thank you!
