Hey y'all,

So last year, my sister Lindsay fell down some stairs in her home and unfortunately broke her leg and ankle and had to have surgery. She was out of work for 4 months with no pay, and in those months, even with the help of fundraisers and my parents' help, she still fell behind in her house payments.

She finally went back to work to start working towards paying the house payments down, and her leg and tendons have been re-injured despite trying to take it easy. She is going to need another surgery. She has a job lined up with dispatch in January where she can sit and let it heal; however, she has no way to make income between now and then. She can barely make it to the restroom most days. She has stairs leading down from her house, and she can barely get down those to Uber to try and supplement income because she physically isn’t able to work at her EMS transport job (which she loves) anymore. ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS, her car decided to break down a few days ago, so she couldn’t Uber even if she could manage to get down the stairs to do it. She can’t get disability. She’s applied for as much help from the state as she possibly can. She’s a single mom supporting her child completely alone. As she is someone who hates asking for help, I’m making this in hopes of preventing her and my nephew from losing her home, which she put all of her savings into buying so they could finally have a place to call their own. I hate to see her suffering like this, and our family has helped physically and financially as much as possible, but it’s just not enough. I’m begging for help. I’m worried about her and my nephew. I’m hoping once she gets her leg fixed (hopefully this time for good), she can get to a point where she isn’t behind anymore, but we’ve got to get her to a point where she isn’t so far behind before it’s too late. We are also looking to possibly build her a ramp outside of her home so it’s easier for her to use her wheelchair so that if and when she can get her car fixed, she can at the very least Uber and DoorDash to try and make it to January.
