Hey Family and Friends! As some of you might know, a month ago I suffered a spiral fracture in my upper arm (humerus) bone while rollerskating. Since then, I have undergone surgery and an intensive healing process. I am determined to get my strength and mobility back but to do that I need your help.
This has been a difficult setback as I am starting on my path after graduating from Cornell in the spring, but I want to give myself the best chance for recovery. Because of a gap in my health insurance, I won’t be able to be covered and start necessary physical therapy until the beginning of September. In order to have the best chance at healing my doctors have recommended that I start PT immediately, but for the next few weeks out of pocket costs for PT are between $400 - $300. I am reaching out to my community to ask if you can donate toward my $1,800 goal in order to ease the strain of PT and incidental medical costs.
Thank you all so much for considering this ask! I want to thank my sissy Chelsea for advocating and taking care of me so diligently through this medical maze. I feel like a can of worms but I have felt very loved this past month with all of the people checking on me, calling and texting. Thank you for the kind notes, prayers, love and well wishes that you have sent my way - if you aren’t able to donate right now if you can please share with your community.
PS if anyone has connections to jobs opening up in the areas of democracy research, policy analyst or museum coordinator positions hit me up. Let’s connect on LinkedIn! @ Lindsay Tyler Williams
I will be sharing updates on my recovery and hope to be out in the world and giving (slightly bionic) handshakes soon!
