Hi my name is Christy Bell. My cousin Lindsay Steimle just had her first baby back in January and it’s been and it’s been a struggle for so many months. Baby CJ has been struggling to thrive since he was born. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with severe laryngomalacia. Laryngomalacia (also known as laryngealmalacia) is a condition that results from a birth defect in your child's voice box (larynx). The soft tissues of the larynx fall over the airway opening and partially block it. This can result in stridor — a high-pitched sound that is heard when your child inhales.
CJ has had one surgery already and another one today as well as having the feed tube removed and replaced with a G-Tube since he’s been having a really hard time eating and still refuses to take the bottle as it’s been difficult for him to breath!!! Larynealmalacia causes choking and apnea for babies who struggle with this condition. CJ is also currently on breathing treatments to help him while he is struggling to breath.
Lindsay is a single mom and went back to work but it’s been very very difficult trying to find different family members to watch CJ because she can not put him in daycare right now while he is on a feeding tube. Medical bills are still adding up daily and with the new surgery today it will only increase her current expenses over the next several months. Lindsay is a very private person, but we feel she needs this right now more than anything.
Thank you very much for your consideration and support! We appreciate it more than you know.
