Lindsay and Bob's Flood Recovery Fund
Donation protected
As many of you know, Bob and I were severely impacted by flooding from Tropical Storm Ida on September 1.
I left the house before any major flooding occurred that night, but hours later when the water finally started going down and I was allowed back into the house, I got my first look at the damage. Water had completely filled the basement and gone 4 feet high throughout the entire first floor. Almost all of our things where toppled over or in different rooms entirely.

Bob and I put so much time and energy into making our first home a place we loved. It’s where Bob proposed to me and where we got married 3 months later. It’s where we raised and said goodbye to our fur babies. It’s where I was able to plant my first garden and dream big. It’s probably where a lot of you have hung out, or stopped by, or undoubtedly heard us talk about.
As of September 26, more than three weeks after the storm, we have few updates. We’re still waiting to see what FEMA will pay, fighting insurance for the $10,000 we feel is owed to us for sump pump failure/sewage backup, and applying for any additional aid we’re eligible for.
We waited a bit to make this donation page because we wanted to get a better sense of how much we lost and what it’ll take to return to some kind of normal. After tallying up personal losses (not home repairs) we’re in the $15-20,000 range to replace what we lost — furniture, appliances, electronics, etc. There were a lot of things we couldn’t place a value on but we’re hoping that by setting up this page we can put this money aside for whenever we get out of crisis mode.
For those that have already donated their time and money, Bob and I are genuinely so thankful. For anyone who offered kind words, they've been heard and have helped keep our spirits high. For those that have asked for a way to help, this is the best way to help us rebuild our life.
