Hello everyone, this is Chelsea. I've initiated a GoFundMe campaign on behalf of my mother, Linda, whom many of you recognize as a truly remarkable person. Since her birthday in May 2023, she has been enduring significant health challenges related to her jaw. It began with a broken tooth, leading to an infection, followed by a fractured jaw, and now, jaw necrosis. These complications stem from osteoporosis treatments she began after her battle with breast cancer. Unfortunately, her first surgery, which involved inserting a metal bracket to stabilize her jaw and combat the infection, did not achieve its intended outcome. Despite six weeks of intensive antibiotic treatment via a PICC line, the infection persists. Linda now faces a second surgery on February 19th to remove part of her lower jaw and reconstruct it using bone from her leg. This surgery will be quite complex, necessitating several weeks of recovery, alongside physical and speech therapy. I'm reaching out for your support because my mother is the epitome of selflessness, always ready to help others, and she shouldn't have to stress about her lack of income while needing to pay rent, utilities and purchase groceries while she's recovering. Though she was hesitant about me starting this fundraiser, especially before her surgery, I believe knowing her financial worries are alleviated will aid her recovery.
