I’ve been quietly living with a heart condition for some time now. I haven’t talked about it much, but right now, I really need help. Getting to my doctors, affording the testing they want to do, and keeping up with bills has become too much. I’ve fallen behind because I’ve had to put my health first.

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I’ve always been the giver — the one people came to when they needed help. I’ve never been the one to ask. But I can’t carry this alone anymore. I had to put my pride aside to reach out, because my health has to come first. I’m behind on bills, I need help getting to my doctors’ appointments, and the cost of testing is more than I can manage right now. It humbles me to say this out loud.
