Update: On Sept. 20th, the hospital in Texas informed me that he would be transferred to Siskins in Chattanooga TN. They told me I would be needing extra time to get back home before they fly him back. Everything, they told me, was ready to go. So I went back home. On Saturday, they told me that his flight was not approved. I was 14 hours out from Texas, so I continued. They said they would be putting him in rehab there for 10 to 14 days. So I would then travel back out to pick him up. They called on Wednesday and said that they wouldn't be able to put him in the rehab over there because he can't follow instructions. On Thursday, they called me back and said that they would put him in a skilled nursing facility. His insurance would not pay for that out there. They again called me back on Friday September 20th, they told me that he would be put in a nursing home over there. That day I decided to go get my husband and bring him home. The doctors over there said he was ok to make the trip back in a rv so he could lie down. I had to rent a rv to get him home and paying for gas and the rental itself has went above my funds. We still need extra prayers. We got over the Mississippi state line. His foot started turning red, then purple. I was told he needed to be seen asap. I stopped in Mississippi in the emergency room. They are admitting him. They found he has loss blood flow from the knee down. They will start blood thinners and the cardiologist will decide what they need to do next. I want to have him transferred over to chattanooga but the cardiologist here says he is not stable enough to be transferred. The doctor seems to know what needs to be done. There is many blood clots in that leg. They will keep him in ICU tonight run more tests. Then in the morning the will go back in to look and see how the leg looks. They have straight line blood flow to his foot. That doesn't mean that he will get to keep his foot. There is a chance they will have to amputate. They will know more tomorrow when they go back in.If they don't clean this up, now, the doctor said the clots can go to his heart and he could die. I still have the rental that needs to go back to its owner. However, I don't have the funds to continue to keep it. I am doing without food until I can get him back. Thank you for any and all support. The many prayers are appreciated.
My name is Linda Whited. My husband and I took a trip to New Mexico for some time alone. We had been "Through the Wringer" lately with various medical issues. Our doctors saw no reason why we couldn't make the trip. However, while in New Mexico, my husband, Lamar, had a major stroke. He was admitted to the hospital, and doctors found heart issues and a brain bleed. He was transferred to El Paso, Texas for better care.
We weren't planning on this, and I'm sleeping in an ICU waiting room with no money. The hospital won't let me take a shower and give me a cot to sleep on. I'm in desperate need for funds to live on while my husband is cared for.
