Help Linda Save Sprouty: Urgent Surgery Needed
Donation protected
Thank you to everyone who helped Sprouty with the costs of his surgery, aftercare, and medications. There’s still a few more days if you would like to help with the costs accumulated.
His recovery is underway, and he can now yawn and meow without hurting. He eats only wet food now since 13 of his teeth had to go, but seems to be adapting well.
Now that he starting to feel better he is back to being cuddly and loving, and he’s even starting to play again!
*************
This is Sprouty, and he is a sweet, affectionate cat my mom, Linda, adopted a few months ago. He came to her with what the shelter said was gingivitis and a past injury where someone had shot him. The object is still inside him, encapsulated beneath his ribs. Over the time he has been with her, his “gingivitis” became more and more severe to the point where he stopped eating, and even opening his mouth to meow became painful. He was no longer using the litter box other than urinating because there was nothing in his system to excrete.
On 7/23, Sprouty went to a veterinary dental specialist to see what the true cause behind his mouth pain was. Stomatitis was what he was diagnosed with—and he is going to need surgery to remove most of his rotting teeth.
It’s going to be a tough road for Sprouty, and an expensive one. Linda is retired on a fixed income and doesn’t have the funds to pay for his surgery, aftercare, or his medications. But without this, he will not survive. So the surgery is scheduled—and it’s going on my brother's credit card. He doesn’t really have the means to take this expense on himself. So here we are…
We are truly hoping that all you cat lovers out there, and friends who have talked with my mom about her cat, are willing to help with raising money to help pay off this expense. Every little bit helps.
