️ Heartbreak and Hope: Supporting Linda After the Loss of Her Hero, George Fox ️
Hi, my name is Melissa Graves, and I am George's stepdaughter and Linda's daughter. George isn't just a stepfather; he is the man who raised me since I was 5 years old.
My heart is shattered as I share this devastating news and reach out for your kindness on behalf of my rock-solid mother.
On November 29th, 2025, the silence in our home became deafening. Just one day after my loving mother Linda’s birthday, my father, George Fox, finally found peace after his grueling, relentless battle with stage 4 cancer. He passed away at home, leaving behind the woman he loved for over 50 years.
The grief is overwhelming, and it's compounded by the fact that this will be the first Christmas our family has ever had without him. Trying to face the holidays without George makes this tragedy feel impossibly hard.
A Legacy of Love, Service, and Unconditional Kindness
George was a proud, retired military veteran who served his country, including a tour in Iraq. But the true measure of his character was in his everyday life:
* He never met a stranger and offered his hand to anyone in need, without hesitation or expectation of anything in return. He was simply a profoundly good, selfless man.
* He found joy and community as a dedicated member of the local tractor club.
* His deepest, quietest love was reserved for his precious cats. They started out as stray barn cats but quickly became his cherished companions, providing him comfort until his very last days.
The Financial Cliff: She Needs Help Now
The years George spent fighting stage 4 cancer completely decimated their savings. George was incredibly proud and stubborn—he would never, ever ask for help. But now, as his family, we must.
Tragically, after his diagnosis, no insurance company would allow them to start a life insurance policy, leaving my mother utterly exposed financially.
I live in Florida and have been flying up to assist as much as possible, covering essential purchases and offering hands-on help. But the reality is crushing: The loss of George means Mom’s current income only covers less than half of their monthly living expenses.
This immediate financial emergency—along with funeral arrangements (details to follow)—is an unbearable weight on my grieving mother during the worst time of her life.
How You Can Be a Lifeline for Linda
I have created this fundraiser to provide a desperately needed financial cushion for my mother, Linda Fox.
Your compassionate donation will go directly to helping her survive this transition and cover:
* Funeral and memorial costs to honor George's incredible life.
* Basic living expenses and bills to help close the critical gap between her income and monthly needs.
* Unforeseen expenses that arise as she navigates life without her partner, ensuring continued care for George's cats.
Please, no amount is too small. Every single dollar is a direct expression of support and relief for Linda as she tries to pick up the pieces of a life they built together for over half a century.
Please share George's story far and wide.
We deeply appreciate your kindness, support, and generosity during this devastating time.
With Sincere Gratitude,
Melissa Graves and the Fox Family
