Hello, my name is Linda Serrano. I’m 71years old and I had open heart surgery in September 2025. My doctor said my heart is not 100% and was given a defibrillator about two weeks after the surgery and have to wear it the rest of my life.

The reason I have started a go fund me is because January 21st. I received a letter from my landlord that my rent will be increasing from $700 to $1587 starting April 1st 2026. I’ve been living in this apartment since 2006. I won’t be able to afford that, as I’m very elderly and heavily medicated (heart condition, diabetic, a fall risk, hard of hearing and pre-dementia).

Working really isn’t on the table for me. The funds will go to me moving, as I will not alone be able to afford that on my social security and pension.

I don't have a car and all my family lives in New York.

I’m hoping to reach out for helping covering the cost of a U-Haul, security deposit, and moving help.
