Linda Favalora is a devoted single mother to two sons, Dominic and Chase. She is a maw maw to Dominic Jr and is welcoming a second grandchild in October. Linda was diagnosed with Pulmonary fibrosis after a knee replacement 7 years ago. This disease is scarring of the lung and no cure other than a double lung transplant. Over the years she has been placed on Oxygen and monitoring her lungs. Three weeks ago Linda's pulmonologist recommended she go to Houston Methodist JC Walter Transplant Center to establish a profile to prepare for when the time may come for a transplant.

However, when she saw the medical team at Houston Methodist her medical condition had progressed further than anticipated. She was told she needed an immediate double lung transplant. With out this life saving surgery, her prognosis was not promising. She will need to move to Houston in the next few weeks and rent an apartment to await the call that two lungs have been found for her. Once she received the beautiful gift of life she will be required to spend a year in Houston after her surgery. She will not be able to work. The financial burden of co-pays, prescriptions, sustaining living in another city, while her son lives in their home, hospital stay, and the many other things that come with a transplant is substantial.
