Support Linda's Mission to Feed Honolulu's Cats

Donation protected
Aloha everyone,

We’re raising funds for Linda, an angel of a woman who has spent the last 30+ years feeding and caring for a colony of 150–200 street cats in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. She’s done this entirely on her own—no outside help, no financial assistance, just her heart, her time, and her own resources. That changed when Kris (Snapple’s foster mom) and I met her and began helping. But now, Linda needs all of us more than ever.

Why We’re Asking for Help
Linda recently suffered a serious fall and is currently in a rehabilitation facility recovering. She fractured her skull and is now healing and regaining strength to walk on her own again. She’s still in pain and unable to continue feeding the cats herself for the time being. Even from her hospital bed, her biggest worry is the cats—she’s heartbroken knowing she can’t be there right now.

Before the fall, Linda—now in her 80s—was already living with significant health challenges. Although her cancer is in remission, she no longer has a bladder, lives with a catheter, and manages chronic pain. Surgery is not an option. Despite all this, she insisted on continuing her daily feedings, even against her doctor’s orders.

Her only income is Social Security, and her maintenance fees recently doubled, forcing her to choose between her own needs and the cats—and she always chooses them.

Linda’s colony spans a 0.6-mile route across four streets. These cats rely on her entirely.
Each night, she used to go through:
60+ cans of wet food
32 lbs of dry food
At a cost of approximately $680 per week.

Even with that much food, it’s still not enough—she stretches every last bit to make sure no cat goes hungry.

The cats know and love Linda. They wait for her, follow her car, and many even show her affection. She’s more than a feeder—she’s their family. Linda also partners with local TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) volunteers to help reduce the colony size, but resources are limited. Shelters are overwhelmed, and abandoned house cats are frequently dumped, making the need even greater.

Where the Money Will Go
Wet and dry cat food
Feeding supplies (bowls, jugs, cleaning tools)
Any surplus will go directly to Linda and her colony.

We’re grateful to have a few wonderful volunteers who’ve stepped in to help cover Linda’s feeding route—a true blessing during this time. Thanks to them, the cats are still being cared for each day. However, Linda is still supplying all the food herself, and the need for additional volunteer support remains ongoing to ensure every feeding site is consistently covered.

We usually have an Amazon Wishlist, but since Linda is not home to receive packages, this GoFundMe is currently the most direct and reliable way to support her. If you’d prefer to send funds another way, please send us a direct message here or on Instagram at @moana.and.snapple

I, Georgina as the organizer, will be the benficiary of the funds as Linda is not always reachable at this time for her to purchase food and supplies for the volunteer feeders. I assure you that every penny will go to feed the street cats.

Linda is overwhelmed with gratitude for the kindness and support she’s received. So many of you have asked how you can continue helping—and this is the way.

Whether it’s $5, a share, or simply spreading the word, every bit helps. You’re not just helping Linda—you’re helping hundreds of cats who have no one else to care for them.

Mahalo nui loa for being part of this compassionate and supportive community. You’re all angels to Linda—and to the cats of Honolulu.
