Updates at the bottom.
Hi, my name is Jordan, and I’m raising funds for my dog, Lincoln, who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of cancer affecting the lymphatic system. He’s only 6 years old, and I’ve had him since he was just a tiny puppy. I brought him home when he was only 6 weeks old. From that day on, he’s been my constant companion and always with me.
Lincoln is one of the most affectionate and friendly dogs you’ll ever meet. He loves going on walks and thrives on attention, pets, and making new friends with everyone he meets.
Hearing that he has cancer was absolutely heartbreaking. But thankfully, chemotherapy can give Lincoln precious extra time. More happy, pain-free days doing what he loves most, and possibly even put the cancer into remission.
The cost of chemotherapy and associated care is estimated to be over $9,000, and while I’m doing everything I can to cover expenses, it’s more than I can manage on my own.
Funds raised will go directly toward:
Chemotherapy treatments
Veterinary visits and diagnostic testing
Medications and supportive care
Any emergency needs that may arise
If you’re able to donate, Lincoln and I would be forever grateful. If you’re not in a position to give, please consider sharing this GoFundMe, every bit of support helps, and spreading the word could make all the difference.
Lincoln has given me so much love, loyalty, and joy over the past 6 years. Now I want to give him the best chance possible to keep living a happy, love-filled life.
Thank you so much for your support, thoughts, and kindness,
Jordan & Lincoln
UPDATE:
(September 11th): Lincoln had his last chemo treatment of Adriamycin on Friday and I just got the results of his visit. All signs are good and he is in remission. Over the next week and a half I will be weaning him off of his Prednisone. He will still be taking Ondansetron and Psyllium husk (a fiber supplement) for some time. His weight is up to 56lbs and he has a lot of energy.
He has at least one more visit in early October for a check up and for a lymph node palpation.
I really appreciate all the support everyone has given us towards getting Lincoln back to his old self again and into remission. If you are able to help with paying down some of his medical debt we would appreciate it.
(June 24th) Lincoln had another chemo treatment today, and overall things are looking good! His bloodwork came back strong and his lymph nodes are now a normal size, which is a great sign. His June 3rd bloodwork showed his counts were a little lower than they hoped (though still in a safe range), so the vet decided to reduce his chemo dosage slightly today to help keep him feeling his best. The good news is he’s been eating better and has great energy. Thank you all again for the support, love, and kindness you’ve shown us. Lincoln and I are grateful for all the help you have given. Lincoln will have a check up and his bloodwork done next week at his normal vet's office to make sure he is continuing to make progress and then on July 17th he will go in for another round of chemo.
(June 3rd) Just got back from Lincoln’s third chemo treatment (June 3). His first treatment was Vincristine which did not help Lincoln’s lymph nodes. At his second treatment they let me know that they would need to see how his second treatment panned out to see if he should stay on the CHOP Protocol. They gave him Cyclophosphamide that time. For a few days it seemed to be working well, his lymph nodes were noticeably reduced in size but they quickly went back to being enlarged which was not a good sign. The vet decided to skip the normal third treatment which would have been another treatment of Vincristine and went to the stronger treatment (usually given in the fourth week) of Adriamycin/Doxorubrcin or Hydroxydaunorubicin and to no longer follow CHOP and only do Adriamycin (so long as there are promising results from this stronger treatment). This treatment costs more than the rest of the treatments in CHOP, today was $649.27. As a result of the change in his treatment schedule, next week he will only get bloodwork done and then go back to get another round of treatment on June 24th.
