Help Lina's family evacuate Gaza

My name is Lucy Feagins, I'm based in Melbourne, Australia and I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Lina Murtaja and her family of seven, who are based in Gaza, Palestine.

Funds donated to this GoFundMe will be withdrawn in Australia by me (Lucy), and transferred via international money transfer to Lina's family in Egypt, to help pay for the Murtaja family's travel + evacuation expenses from Gaza to Egypt.

Here are some words from Lina :

My name is Lina, and I am 16 years old and I am Palestinian, from Gaza.

I’m writing this to you in a time of great urgency and need.

My family of seven (Father, Mother and brothers Mukhtar (17), Karim (14), Abdul (12), and Omar (8)) are currently based in Rafah, Gaza, facing unimaginable circumstances.

In October, we were forced to flee our home in northern Gaza, and have been homeless for six months now.

Our family home, which was built 23 years ago, has been completely destroyed and we do not know if we will ever return there.

My family is currently sheltering in a refugee camp near Rafah. The camp is bombed every few days, with planes circling the sky constantly. Finding food, water, or medical supplies is almost impossible. This is especially difficult for my Father, because he has diabetes, and is not in good health.

We have heard that a ground invasion of Rafah is imminent, and we are terrified of this. We fear we will not survive much longer. There is no safe place in Gaza anymore, if the bombs don't reach us, then hunger and diseases will.

Leaving Gaza for Egypt is our only hope of escaping from Israel's ongoing genocide. We have an aunt in Egypt who will assist us if we are successful in evacuating there.

We have been trying to get out of Gaza for a long time, but it is not easy. The Egyptian authorities are demanding an amount ranging between US$5,000 and US$7,000 for each person who wants to cross the border.

The funds raised here will be used to help pay these border fees, as well as cover immediate expenses to assist our family to evacuate.

Any amount you can give will be a huge help and will go directly to saving my family.
