Within 1 month, my dear friend Lina's life has changed forever. She underwent a normal surgical procedure to, unfortunately, find out she had Stage 1 Ovarian Cancer in June. She has now been told the cancer has progressed to Stage 4. Today, she sits in the hospital with her endless worries about her health and more importantly how she will care for her 2 children. The first round of chemotherapy has left her in the hospital for the last 12 days with kidney failure, fluid buildup, and an enormous amount of pain/discomfort.
