Help Me Study Abroad in Japan! ✈️

Hi everyone! My name is Lilyanna Gallardo, and I’m a proud high school graduate of the Class of 2025 and an incoming freshman at the University of Wisconsin–Madison! I’m beyond excited to be attending my dream school, made possible in part by an amazing financial aid package that’s helping lift some of the burden from my family’s shoulders.

But now, I’ve been given the opportunity of a lifetime: I’ve been accepted into a study abroad program in Japan! This program will allow me to immerse myself in a vibrant and completely different culture, expand my perspective, and grow both academically and personally. While on this trip I will be attending classes and gaining college credit along with the excursions to temples and cities. It’s an experience that will shape me for years to come—something I never imagined would be possible.

However, the reality is that the cost of this trip is currently out of reach for me. Despite working hard and saving, I need additional support to make this dream a reality.

That’s why I’m turning to my community, friends, and generous hearts like yours. If you're able to donate anything at all, please know it would mean the world to me. Every dollar brings me closer to walking the streets of Tokyo, learning firsthand about Japanese history and culture, and becoming a more open, informed global citizen.

In order to be able to go on this trip I need to have all my funds in by the beginning of June. The total Cost of attendance to this program is $8,350.00, with my acceptance I received a $3,000 scholarship leaving the cost at $5,350.

If enough funds are not raised to be able to go on the trip, I will return all the money donated towards the cause.
