I am reaching out to request financial support in any amount you are able to provide. As many of you know, my most recent book Scout's Honor came out on 4/5. You may not know that release day doesn't come with any kind of payment. My income from the books releasing this year supported me during 2020 and 2021, though at a level that was on the poverty line. But self-employment offered me an amazing gift: I was able to go back to school! As some of you may know, I was unable to finish my college degree before because I was working multiple jobs to support myself. I have always hated being a college dropout. I can't express what it means to me that I'm approaching the end of my first year back with a 4.0. It's a kind of pride in myself that I didn't think I'd get to experience, and I don't want to lose this opportunity to complete my education.

Over the last four months, I have attempted to find a second job or obtain a book contract that will allow me to continue my schooling. I spend every day applying for work between completing homework and editing and marketing books that will not provide additional income. I am asking for your help to pay for my rent and personal needs as I continue to look for stable employment. I am going to graduate. I've made a promise to myself and I will do whatever I can to keep it. But right now, I need the help of my community to do it.
