I’m reaching out with humility and hope to ask for your support for my mom Liliana, a strong, brave woman who recently faced one of the biggest challenges of her life: urgent spinal surgery to replace three discs in her spine.

Without this surgery, Liliana risked life in a wheelchair and living with constant life-draining pain. Thanks to the incredible doctors and the opportunity to go through with the procedure, she now has a real chance to recover and regain her quality of life.

But the reality is heartbreaking: the hospital and medical costs exceed 2.8 million Mexican pesos (150,000 US dollars) an amount far beyond what our family can manage on our own (hospital statement at the bottom). The hospital business team failed to inform us of the entire cost and the timing of the payment. We were taken unawares and thought Mom’s insurance would cover the entire procedure! The hospital would not accept a payment plan and insists on the entire payment in 90 days—which we do not have.

That’s why we are asking for your help. We want Liliana to be able to focus entirely on her healing, not on the crushing weight of debt.

Hoy acudo con humildad a ustedes para pedir ayuda a mi mamá Liliana, una mujer fuerte y valiente que recientemente tuvo que someterse a una cirugía de reemplazo de tres discos en la columna vertebral.

La operación era urgente: una vida en silla de ruedas y con constante dolor estaban en riesgo. Gracias a los médicos y a la oportunidad de realizarla, hoy Liliana tiene la posibilidad de recuperarse.
