In the fall of 2016 my mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. Over the past year she has undergone both oral and IV chemo treatments, in hopes it would be enough to kill the cancer. Recently she found out the cancer has spread and they have found 2 tumors in her brain. She will be undergoing radiation as an add on to her chemo therapy in the coming months.
Throughout her chemotherapy she has only taken a single day off but in order for the next part of her treatment to be successful, SHE NEEDS TO MAKE REST PART OF HER RECOVERY. This is an idea that has been hard for her to grasp. She has been working since she was 14 years old, giving up her own education to ensure her sisters got the education they deserve. She is a genuine giver and if you know my mother at all, you know this all to be true. She is a true fighter, but she’s is also the grandmother who loves unconditionally, the employee who treats your business as if it was hers, the auntie who spoils you like her own, the sister that will travel oceans for her siblings, the friend that will come cook for you to cheer you up on your worst day, but right now she is the woman fighting cancer who only knows how to give and has so much trouble saying I need help.
Asking her to let me do this for her was hard, but unfortunately, life doesn't give you breaks when it gets tough and bills still need to get paid. She knows that she has many amazing friends that would do whatever they can to help and I am setting up this gofundme on the advice of some of them and friends of my own, who know and love her.
Any help for Lily will go directly to her, so that she only has to focus on fighting the cancer and getting well. Any help provided will be met with deepest gratitude.
