I cannot say thank you enough for all of the love and support we've received through everyone's generous donations.

Lily seemed to have made a positive recovery. After 40 hours of ER care, her levels all checked out and she was being fiesty, so at 9 pm 11.4 I felt confident and brought her home.

For reasons I will never know, at 3am 11.5 she passed, in my arms, at home.

She took a piece of my heart with her.

The medical debt is still there, a mountain on top of the grief I am now going through.

I appreciate any donations towards the alleviation of her ER medical care.

Help Save Little Lily

Our tiny warrior needs a miracle, and I need your help.

My name is Kaleigh, and my three-pound chihuahua, Lily, is the absolute light of my life. She may be small, but she’s so full of heart. The kind of dog who curls up right under your chin, who makes you laugh with her little “gremlin grumbles,” and who has been my constant through every high and low.

On October 26th, Lily underwent a necessary dental surgery to remove an abscess that had become painful and dangerous. The surgery went as planned, but within days, something went terribly wrong ... Lily went into kidney failure.

By November 3rd, she became frighteningly lethargic. I rushed her to the emergency vet (VEG ER), where she was admitted immediately. The incredible staff there have been compassionate and dedicated, and they’ve allowed me to stay by her side throughout her care. She’s fighting so hard to pull through, and I’m doing everything I can to fight alongside her.

Why I’m Asking for Help

This is the hardest part to write.

I’ve been laid off since June 26th, and I’ve applied to nearly a thousand jobs (literally, I have kept track) everything from corporate administrative work to retail positions at Target and Costco. I’ve had multiple interviews and near offers, but nothing has materialized yet. I pick up 1–2 shifts a week at a local brewery (a job I’m incredibly grateful for), but it’s not enough to cover an emergency like this.

Unemployment has wiped out my savings. This sudden ER stay and treatment for kidney failure is something I never could have prepared for, emotionally or financially.

Anyone who’s loved a pet knows they’re not “just a dog.” Lily is my family and my comfort in a season that’s already been so hard. Watching her hooked up to IVs, breaks my heart.
