Help Lilo regain her ability to walk again
Donation protected
UPDATE NOVEMBER 22, 2023:
We would like to thank everyone who donated to help pay for Lilo’s medical bills. Every donation helped Lilo gain her ability to walk again and we could never be more thankful than we are right now. For a final update, as of two weeks ago Lilo had completed her physical therapy sessions and has gained almost all of her mobility back. She is now back to walking and running (with caution!) and able to see her friends again. She stills loses control of her back legs at times causing her to slip and slide but she doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying life! We are currently getting ready for the holidays meaning she is getting very into the Christmas spirit with outfits and playing with our toy train under the tree lol. Once again, none of this could have been possible without everyone’s help and support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ! <3
(The new photo is Lilo today wearing her best christmas dress!)
On Monday, July 24, 2023, our sweet Lilo lost the ability to move her back legs. This was sudden, our sweet girl is only two and a half years old and has so much to live and experience still. She was admitted to the hospital and underwent surgery two days later. The neurologist explained that Lilo has IVDD, intervertebral disc disease, which caused her paralysis. She was discharged on 07/28 and still has partial paralysis of her back limbs and needs physical therapy to help her walk again. The Vet bills, hospital, surgery, post-op appointments, and medications will exceed $6,000. We don't feel comfortable asking for all of it, but any donation will help so much.
