A couple of days ago, my dog Lilly and I were brutally attacked by two large dogs. Lilly, our 6-year-old Labrador Retriever, was badly hurt and is now fighting to recover. We just adopted her seven weeks ago, and she’s already become such a big part of our family. We started her insurance last week, but unfortunately, the coverage won’t begin for another 21 days. This left us completely blindsided by a large vet bill, and we’re doing everything we can to help her heal.

As a new dog owner, it’s a strange and difficult feeling to be in this situation. My wife works from home, and Lilly has become her co-worker and teenage hanai daughter, keeping her company every day. Lilly came to us from an AKC breeder in Washington, and she brings so much joy and a special kind of love to our home. We’re just grateful she’s alive, and we want to give her the best chance to recover and stay with us.

We don’t want to consider putting Lilly down because of our financial situation. Any support, no matter how small, will help us cover her urgent medical care and give her the chance to heal.
