Help Lilly Heal After Losing Dakota

Lilly is a 14-year-old girl whose world revolved around her beloved horse Dakota. From the moment they met, Dakota and Lilly shared a bond that was truly special—he would wait for her every day, always looking out for her and making sure she was safe. Lilly’s gentle spirit and love for animals gave her confidence and joy, and Dakota was her constant companion. Together, they worked hard, trained, and dreamed of a future filled with adventures. Their future was bright and the possibilities were endless.... Dakota had trust issues sometimes and he could be very difficult but once Lilly and him bonded... he would do anything for her and if he got nervous she could talk him through anything... Dakota wasn't just any horse... he was breed to do big jobs... they can't afford to purchase another one with his breeding... Lilly only had him year... and in that year change both of their lives.

Tragically, Dakota was struck by a car, and despite Lilly’s hope and care at his side, she lost him after 10 days. Since then, Lilly’s light has dimmed. She won’t come out of her room, refuses to visit the barn, and her appetite and smile have faded. The loss of Dakota has left a deep mark on her, and it’s been heartbreaking for her family to watch her struggle.

Within the last week, unfortunately her older horse that made her the horseman she is, also passed... what we thought started as colic, ended with a organ displacement. this year has been nothing but a nightmare.

Lilly's family has always had horses... and in all these years never had either of these things happen... the oldest horse in their barn is 45 yrs old. That alone tells you the horses must get excellent care.

A few months ago, Lilly took it up on herself, which we were totally shocked, to contact a large Ranch out in Texas... she told them the story.... asked if they would possibly give a discount.... at first, they didn't answer because they thought that it was a scam.... but she sent a follow up email and then they finally did answer, we really didn't think they would entertain the possibility of any discounts but they did.. a huge discount.. for a foal.. they are sold for big price tags.. this ranch is huge and is generations deep... the blood lines are perfect... the horses are phenomenal... and we can't believe they are giving her this once in a lifetime opportunity... so here we are asking for help to make this happen.... it has taken Lilly months to start getting past this huge loss... so to see a glimmer in her eyes is a big deal... we hate to ask for help ....the world is in so much chaos everywhere... but she is 13 and emotionally distraught... and we need to do this to help her heal... and not any horse is going to work for this job.

Her mom has always given so much to others, and now it’s time for the community to come together for them. Every contribution will help bring hope and light back into Lilly’s life, giving her the support she needs to recover.
